What type of gasoline

0 votes
I've got a 87 IROC-z28 that I'm restoring, slowly. The engine is getting rebuilt right now (getting the whole thing stripped and redone.) I'm planning on keeping most of it stock. Which is the best kind of gas to use after a complete overhaul... I've heard premium gasoline is the best since it keeps your engine cleaner.

depends on how you are going to drive the car. This is what i would suggest though, on days that you know you will drive it "normal" just put 87 octane in it. Since the cars have knock sensors you can put low grade fuel and it will detect detonation and retard your timing alittle affecting performance. the days that you are going to the track or just going to have some fun put 91 octane. this wont make the car knock so no performance will be lost. hope this helps
