I miss having the COTM contest every month. Even though there's nowhere to post it on the main page, I want to restate the COTM by creating a new forum for it. The winning car will be announced on the forum every month. The winning COTM will have multiple pictures posted along with a little write-up and/or technical data provided by the owner.
I'm hoping to see some changes in the contest. I want people to take an active role in participating in the COTM contest every month, by taking pictures of their car specifically for the contest. This will provide a constant flow of new pictures every month, and should also be a lot of fun for members to participate in.
Because of the new changes, and the hopefully continued participation, I am going to try a new selection procedure in which we choose the best picture and not choosing somebody based on who they are, what their car is like (still needs to be at minimum a thirdgen Camaro), and whether or not they were just recently selected. Since we're going to do new pictures every month, everybody is eligible every month. We're going to try to get creative with the theme each month in order to make it necessary for you to get out and take new pictures every time. The winner will be selected based on the best picture(s). The contest will be announced at the beginning of each month. We'll set a deadline approximately 1 week prior to the end of the month, and that last month will be used for poll voting. Ultimately the winner will be decided by the admins, but we want member feedback to help us with the decision. This process gives you a couple weeks to get ideas, and get out there and shoot.
Here are a couple articles that discuss good picture taking ideas:

Right now the winner of COTM will get a free iroczone.com email account. If we ever manage to start generating more revinue, perhaps something a bit nicer will be awarded.
We'll see where this goes. Hopefully we'll get enough participation to keep it going and to make it a lot of fun. If we get limited participation, we'll try something else.
