Hooked on Phonics.....

And I'd be pissed since his belt might scratch the car.

I gained almost 30hp just from dumping my tpi and going carb. Best thing I ever did,

Gained a lot more just going to a min ram. It's not because of the fuel injection. It's the design of the TPI intake. Gives you a lot of torque but limits your horsepower and RPM's. You hit a brick wall at 4200rpm. Mini ram for me goes to 5500rpm with a nice power band. With a stock L98 with a comp cams 502(small cam), mini ram and exhaust from headers back. Should be about 416hp 451tq. And the same motor with the TPI intake is 362hp 485tq. So not only did I gain a lot more power. I also get better drive ability and fuel mileage. With just a basic tune. I am getting 20mpg combined. Of course the 6 speed might help a little there. I have a friend with a 383 mini ram with OBD2 making 450whp getting 28mpg on the freeway. And with just the OBD2 he made 20 more hp. Basically just because you have a bad fuel injection intake design doesn't mean you have to rip it off and go carb to make power. Just look at your options for replacing the intake first.
