Wheel Backspacing

Postby 89Groundpounder » Sun Dec 28, 2008 9:22 pm

I'm getting ready to put a set of Torq Thrust IIs on my 90 and was wondering what backspacing I need. Also what is the difference between the different sizes?

Thanks

it depends on what size you get... the original offset on iroc wheels is 0 in the front and +16 in the rear but you can run a zero in the rear as you really wont notice 5/8 of an inch and every other camaro wheel thats not 16 inch is a zero offset.

so what size are you looking at?
I have access to equipment that will make your woman forget who you are.

Well I'm getting 16x8s from Summit and they have 3 inch to 5.250 inch backspacing and wasn't sure what the difference was.

4.5 on a 8 inch wheel will net you a zero offset

yup, and you can put that backspacing all the way around the car and use the same tire size all the way around (i'd go with a 255/50/16 for a nice fat look without being too big for the wheel) and then rotating tires won't be impossible.
